ASUU to call off strike February 2014

ASUU to call off strike February 2014

As you already know ASUU has shifted their next meeting till 15th January following the sudden demise of the former ASUU chairman.
This automatically means the strike cannot be called off on January 2014 because the meeting is only meant to deliberate if the offer by the federal government would be taken or not, considering that one third of its members have not accepted the offer according to its last meeting.
This might be a good news to some but a bad news to people like us who have been waiting earnestly for the Academic staff union to call off its strike. As I was leaving school,  going home after the announcement of the strike, one of my friends suggested I get a job. I dashed the idea thinking it was just a mere one month strike but turn out to be lasting about 6-7 months. Am sure he did as he said and he’s enjoying it.
My advice to you is similar to my friend’s, GET SOMETHING DOING. Get a job, help your parents in their business or even volunteer for an Ngo, at least you will gain some valuable experience in the remaining 3 months we have left.
What do you think?
